Shipping policy
Effective Date: August 25, 2025
Thank you for choosing AWD Engineering. This Shipping Policy explains how we handle, process, and deliver all orders placed through our online store. Please read carefully before completing your purchase.
1. Order Processing & Lead Times
All AWD Engineering products are custom-built and made-to-order. Production begins only after your order is placed and full payment is received.
- Average Lead Time: 4–10 weeks depending on production schedule, part complexity, and material availability.
- Estimated shipping dates are not guaranteed and are provided as general guidance only.
- Production or carrier delays do not entitle the customer to cancellation, refund, or compensation.
- You will receive an email notification with tracking information once your order has shipped.
If an item is in stock (non-custom), it typically ships within 3–5 business days of payment confirmation.
2. Shipping Methods & Carriers
AWD Engineering ships using UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, or insured freight carriers depending on item size and weight.
We reserve the right to select the best available carrier and shipping method for your order.
- Signature Required: High-value shipments may require a signature upon delivery.
- Freight Orders: Palletized or crated shipments will require freight access. Customers must ensure that the delivery address can accommodate trucks or liftgate service.
- International Orders: We ship internationally to select countries. Import duties, customs fees, and taxes are not included in your purchase price and are the buyer’s responsibility.
3. Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination.
For oversized or freight shipments, an adjusted rate may be invoiced separately before dispatch.
AWD Engineering does not profit from shipping costs; rates reflect actual carrier pricing and packaging costs.
4. Address Accuracy
It is the customer’s responsibility to provide an accurate and complete shipping address at checkout.
- AWD Engineering is not responsible for delays, lost shipments, or additional costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer.
- If a shipment is returned to us due to an incorrect or undeliverable address, the customer will be responsible for reshipping fees and any additional carrier charges.
5. Delivery, Tracking & Lost Packages
Once your order has shipped, AWD Engineering is not responsible for shipping delays, loss, or misdelivery caused by the carrier.
- All orders include tracking information.
- If your order is delayed, lost, or marked as “delivered” but not received, you must contact the carrier directly to open a missing package or loss claim.
- AWD Engineering will assist with documentation but cannot issue refunds or replacements until the carrier’s investigation is completed.
- Delivery times displayed at checkout are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
6. Shipping Damage & Inspection Requirements
All shipments are insured for their full value. Customers are required to inspect all packages immediately upon delivery.
To qualify for a damage or loss claim:
- Report visible damage, missing items, or packaging issues within 48 hours of delivery.
- Provide detailed photos of the box, label, packaging, and damaged contents.
- Retain all packaging materials until the claim is fully resolved.
- Claims made after 48 hours will not be accepted.
If a freight shipment is visibly damaged at delivery:
- Refuse delivery or clearly note damage on the bill of lading before signing.
- Contact AWD Engineering immediately with photos and shipment details.
7. International Orders & Customs
For customers outside the United States:
- All import duties, VAT, customs fees, brokerage charges, and related costs are the buyer’s responsibility.
- AWD Engineering is not responsible for customs delays or clearance issues.
- If a shipment is refused or returned due to unpaid import or customs fees, the buyer remains responsible for all shipping charges, return freight costs, and a 60% restocking fee.
8. Delivery Refusal, Unclaimed, or Undeliverable Orders
If a shipment is refused, unclaimed, or undeliverable due to customer error, absence, or refusal to accept delivery:
- The customer is responsible for all related shipping and return costs, and
- A 60% restocking fee will apply to cover production, labor, and administrative expenses.
AWD Engineering reserves the right to hold or cancel reshipment until all outstanding costs are paid in full.
9. Partial Shipments
Orders containing multiple components may be shipped separately based on production stages and stock availability.
Each shipment will include its own tracking information.
10. Force Majeure & Unexpected Delays
AWD Engineering is not liable for shipping delays or failure to deliver due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, weather events, or accidents;
- Strikes, labor shortages, or supply chain interruptions;
- Material shortages, carrier disruptions, or customs delays;
- War, pandemics, or government restrictions.
Such events do not entitle customers to refunds, chargebacks, or cancellations.
11. Insurance & Transfer of Risk
All shipments are insured while in transit. Once the carrier marks an order as delivered, risk of loss transfers to the customer.
AWD Engineering is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage that occurs after confirmed delivery.
