Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most common questions about our all-wheel-drive swap kits.

Word of caution first to educate and ensure your safety:

Our AWD kits are not OEM imported parts like the ones you may see used in other AWD conversions online. It’s important to understand the difference:

  • Fitment Issues: OEM AWD parts such as Gita/JZX components were never designed to bolt into the IS300, GS, SC, or Supra chassis. Installing them requires cutting and welding the frame rails, which can compromise safety, accuracy, and alignment. If not done precisely, this can result in an unstable and unsafe vehicle at high speeds. Reversing these modifications later is also extremely difficult. Our Bolt in kits do not affect frame rails and are removable!
  • Engine Compatibility: The OEM GITA/JZX AWD setups were built around a non-turbo 2JZ-GE AWD block and oiling system. The AWD 2JZ GE oil pump and pickup tube are not the same as our RWD 2JZ and flow 15–30% less volume than a GTE pump. The AWD 2JZ parts do not bolt-on to a RWD 2JZ . You would have to heavily modify the GITA sump to work for your RWD 2JZ/1JZ. This reduced oil flow can lead to bearing starvation, severe engine wear, or catastrophic failure. Our kit fully supports 2jz GTE Oil pumps and will allow you to use any oil pump you want! Our pickup tube is built-in to our AWD Sump/Oil pan so just bolt it on and you're good to go! We have no oil pressure issues with our parts!
  • Long-Term Reliability: Using imported OEM 2JZ AWD parts requires heavy modification to those components to use them and limited availability for replacements. This creates challenges for maintenance and long-term reliability.

Our kits, by contrast, are engineered specifically to fit these chassis correctly, without compromising your frame rails or oiling system. You simply bolt on kits in and dont have to worry about alignment issues, oiling issue etc.

⚠️ If you’re considering OEM GITA AWD parts, please understand the risks before purchasing those parts or choosing a shop to do those modifications for you.

FAQ's

What cars are your AWD parts from?

ALL OF OUR PARTS ARE CUSTOM MADE, WE DO NOT USE GITA OR JZX OR ANY OTHER IMPORTED PARTS. ALL OUR AWD PARTS ARE MADE IN THE USA. Our parts bolt directly to the RWD 2jz/1jz and do not require any cutting or custom oil pickup tubes or cutting frame rails. We pride ourselves on making bolt-in solutions. We do use USDM wheel bearings, ball joints and we try to retain as many factory parts as possible so you can utilize everything you already have on your car.

The benefit to our kit is that you can find all replacement parts easily and affordably; None of the parts we use are discontinued like the OEM Gita/JZX parts!

What cars do your AWD kits fit?

Our primary focus is to create bolt-in kits for all the popular platforms.

Currently we have a bolt in kit for the is300 dropping before the end of August 2025, SC/Supra will be done by September 2025 and shipping in October 2025. Gs300 kits will also be done before the end of 2025!

If you want one of our AWD 2jz sump/oil pan that we created I can also provide that separately if you want to put it in a car/truck that i don’t currently have a bolt-in kit for!

We also build custom AWD solutions for other chassis and platforms, please reach out to our contact form to discuss further!

How much does the AWD kit cost?

Our AWD kits are starting at around $10,000-$15,000 for a complete bolt-in AWD kit. All of our kits are bolt-in and does not require you to cut your frame rails or frame of your car. All of the parts we make are made in such a way that you can easily remove it all and convert your car back to a RWD configuration. We have spent a significant amount of time , capital and effort so you did not have too. All of our kits are engineered to work for your specific chassis. We keep all of kits as close to the factory OEM suspension geometry as possible so you keep the driving feel you're accustom too.

Custom builds may vary in price depending on your chassis and required modifications.

Can you shut off the AWD/4WD and have just RWD?

Yes, depending upon your transmission and transfer case setup we are able to shut off the front wheels for burnouts etc. We also have a true-awd transfer case setup that can do true torque split between front and rear wheels similar to the GTR.

What’s included in the AWD kit?

Each kit is engineered for strength, reliability, and OEM-style fitment. Components may include but are not limited too:

  • AWD oil sump for 2JZ engines
  • Custom AWD Spindles
  • Reinforced subframe(s) and control arms
  • Transmission brace/crossmember
  • Adjustable Engine mounts/brackets
  • Adapters and misc components
  • Supporting brackets and hardware etc.

There may be more parts depending on your chassis, it varies based on the platform you have!

**We do not include transmissions or transfer cases but we can offer anything you need if you reach out and are interested in having us supply that for you!**

What transmission options are there ?

The transmission choice is ultimately up to your preference, driving style, budget and power goals.

The most common setups we see paired with our AWD kits are the 4L80E, TH400, ZF 8HP AWD, T56( with custom adapter to support a transfer case), 6l80, 6r80,10r80 etc etc (pretty much anything that supports a transfer case). I have not tested it but there are R-series 4WD transmission from Toyota trucks that may work.

You can use virtually any AWD/4WD transmission that has an adapter plate for the 2JZ/1JZ and a driver-side drop transfer case(we can make a custom Passenger drop version that utiltizes an R35 front differential it is however more costly since GTR R35 Parts are more costly)

We can supply either an OEM or a built transmission if needed. Pricing varies widely depending on condition and level of build.

Can you build a custom AWD setup?

Yes. We specialize in custom AWD fabrication for 2JZ swaps, including S13,S14, RX7, Mustang and other platforms. Cars must be shipped to our facility for custom builds. Please reach out via our contact form here

How much power can it handle?
